Roleen Selby’s journey with ceramics spans decades, beginning with her National Diploma in Art and Design Ceramics in 1979. This foundation set her on a lifelong path of creativity and connection through clay. As the founder of Clay Magic, Roleen has shared her passion for ceramics by teaching both privately at her home studio and at various schools, guiding countless students in discovering the transformative power of pottery.

Her time at St Vincent’s School was a key turning point in her career, as it led her to pursue a Diploma in Sign Language. This additional skill empowered Roleen to become an interpreter at two Olympic Games with the South African team, as well as work at the Premier’s Office, where her focus on communication and inclusivity shone through.
