Healing Through Art: Exploring Our Clay Therapy Groups
At our studio, we offer unique art therapy groups where participants can explore the healing power of clay. Led by our Registered Counsellor, Kaela Sussman, and our experienced ceramicist, Roleen Selby, these sessions provide a safe and nurturing environment for individuals to express themselves and find emotional relief through creative work.
The Therapeutic Power of Clay
Clay is a versatile and tactile medium that allows for a deep connection with the creative process. The act of molding and shaping clay can be both grounding and liberating, offering a physical outlet for emotions that might be difficult to express verbally. In our art therapy groups, participants use clay to explore their feelings, gain insights, and experience personal growth.
Guided by Expertise
Kaela Sussman, our experienced Registered Counsellor, guides participants through the therapeutic process. With her compassionate and holistic approach, Kaela creates a supportive space where individuals feel heard and understood. Her expertise ensure that each session is tailored to meet the unique needs of every participant. Kaela is deeply passionate about providing therapeutic intervention in various forms that allow for self-expression and connection with one’s inner world. Her belief in the transformative power of creativity shines through in her work, and she finds great joy in facilitating opportunities for others to explore and heal. Outside of her counselling work, Kaela has a personal love for ceramics and spends countless hours in the studio, where she experiences firsthand the healing and meditative benefits that working with clay can offer. Her hands-on experience with ceramics enhances her ability to guide others in this therapeutic process.
In addition to Kaela, we are fortunate to have Roleen Selby, our dedicated ceramics teacher, whose years of experience and passion for using clay as a healing tool further enrich our therapeutic sessions. Roleen brings a deep understanding of the tactile nature of clay and how its process can be a profound form of self-expression and emotional release. With a wealth of knowledge in ceramics, she fosters a creative environment that empowers participants to explore and express their emotions through hands-on, meaningful art-making. Her expertise and passion for the medium make her an invaluable part of our art therapy group, ensuring each participant feels supported and inspired.

Our art therapy groups are designed to be inclusive and welcoming, suitable for individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
